Volcano wins the Louve d’Or
The awards for the 40th Festival du nouveau cinéma were presented at tonight's closing night gala in Montreal.
Rúnar Rúnarsson’s Volcano is the big winner of the 40th Festival du nouveau cinéma the quiet Icelandic drama was awarded the top prize, Louve d’or for the best feature film in the International Selection.
Volcano also won the Quebec Film Critics Association Award for Best Feature Film in the International Selection.

Volcano in the Selection
It is with great pleasure that the European Film Academy and EFA Productions announce the titles of this year’s selection list, the list of films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2011!
In the coming weeks, the 2,500 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the different award categories. The nominations will then be announced on 5 November at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain.
